The recent episode of Malaria in the US has created a history and it’s been for the first time since 2003. A twenty year leap is definitely breaking news as the disease often occurs in most countries across the world.
Five people have caught malaria and out of them, four have been found in Sarasota County, Florida and one person in Cameron County, Texas as per the reports. Cameron County is the southernmost county in Texas, which is around 1, 300 miles away from Sarasota.

What is the latest update?
All four patients of Florida have been treated and recovered from the disease. Residents in Florida have been suggested to apply bug spray, to avoid high mosquito population areas.
Wear full-sleeve shirts, and long pants when possible especially during sunrise and sunset when mosquitoes are most active.
History of Malaria Cases in Texas & Florida-
The last case of malaria reported in 1994 in Texas and 2003 in Florida as per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Mode of Cause & Symptoms-
Malaria is caused when a mosquito bites a person carrying malarial parasites. The disease isn’t contagious and communicable.
